DevFest

DevFest is a global, community-led tech conference series hosted by Google Developer Groups (GDGs). Each DevFest event is crafted by its local organizers to fit the needs and interests of the local developer community. Think of it as an annual celebration of technology and community, happening in cities all over the world.

Google Developer Groups (GDG) are local, community-run meetups for developers interested in Google's technologies. With over 1,000 chapters in 140+ countries, they form the largest developer community network in the world.

The goal of a GDG is to help developers:

• Learn: Get hands-on experience with new technologies through workshops, talks, and events.
• Connect: Network with other developers and build a strong professional community in your city.
• Grow: Share your expertise, build leadership skills, and advance your career in a supportive environment.

Joining your local GDG is simple and free!

Here’s how to get started:

1. Find a chapter: Visit the GDG Community Platform and use the map or search bar to find a GDG chapter in your area.
2. Join the Group: Click on the chapter's page and look for a "Join" or "Join Us" button. This will add you to their member list and ensure you get notified about upcoming events.

Interested in leading a community?

If you have a passion for community building, you can also apply to become a GDG organizer and lead a chapter in your area. You can learn more about the application process on the Google for Developers site.

DevFest is an annual conference hosted by Google Developer Group communities around the world. Unlike a typical meetup or speaker session, these events are larger and include a variety of activities to help developers learn about and build with Google's developer tools.

Throughout the second half of the year, DevFest events bring local developers together to learn about new products and updates directly from Google product teams.

At a DevFest, you'll explore a variety of Google's developer technologies. While this year's theme focuses on Building Safe, Secure, and Scalable Solutions with AI and Cloud, you can also expect to find sessions and workshops on other technologies such as: Android development; Flutter for cross-platform app development; Firebase; Machine Learning and TensorFlow; Web development.

Absolutely! DevFest conference agendas are customized to match the local developer community's interests. They feature talks, hands-on demos, workshops, and codelabs on the latest Google technologies, covering areas like Android, Firebase, Google Cloud, and AI/ML. While the AI theme guides the agenda, it doesn't prevent the exploration of other pertinent topics.
