The following sections summarize how to integrate open loop payments with Google Wallet. The instructions differ based on whether you have an existing open loop system or not.
For an existing open loop system
- Ensure that the Prerequisites are met and that mobile devices can complete transactions on the transit terminal.
- Perform updates to support an enhanced user experience:
- Add any missing Basic requirements and enhanced functionality settings to the terminals and validators.
- Use the Permission to display brand features on Google form to provide brand rights so that your transit agency can be featured in Google Wallet and on Google Maps.
- Submit the required information to display your Station and stop names in Google Wallet.
- Tap mobile devices on PTO terminals to test the system.
- Verify transactions, UX, and notifications.
- Train field agents and customer support teams to prepare for the launch.
For new open loop systems
- As part of the initial setup of the transit terminals, ensure the following:
- The terminals meet the Prerequisites and Basic requirements to accept mobile device transactions.
- Set up the terminals and validators to provide enhanced mobile user experiences.
- Use the Permission to display brand features on Google form to provide brand rights so that your transit agency can be featured in Google Wallet and on Google Maps.
