Every month, we spotlight the contributions WTM Ambassadors are making to their community. Get inspired by their stories and successes.
Zharkyn is a Women Techmakers Ambassador in Kazakhstan. She is a PRINCE2 certified Project Manager, Techwomen 2022 fellow, and a mentor for the MentorPro.IT project in Kazakhstan. She holds a Bachelor degree in Journalism and a Master degree in Information Systems.
With a 15-year career as an IT Project Manager, she has found special interest and excitement in Health Informatics. This interest led her to earn a patent issued by Kazakhstan's National Institute of Intellectual Property for the development of an information system for the diagnosis of some cardiovascular and oncological diseases, patented with certificate #4574.
Zharkyn and her friends are co-founders of the “Ulys.tech Education Development Public Fund” that aims to train Kazakhstani girls and women in IT. Their goal is to encourage, through their own experience, girls and women who are starting their career in STEM.
"Believe in yourself, be brave, no matter who or what. We have all been there. And you do have a supportive community of like-minded people!"
Susan Wojcicki, CEO of YouTube, shares her story from studying history and literature to being a tech icon. She also talks about the importance of balancing time at work and spending time with family, having her mom as an inspiration in her parenting, and why it’s necessary to practice supportive leadership.
