Meet WTM Ambassador Hels Ahrens

Senior Merchant Success Manager of Key Accounts at Shopify. Lead of Merchant Success Northern America Mentorship Program at Shopify. Chair of Shopify's 'OUT' Employee Resource Group (ERG).

Through her work at Shopify, she has positively impacted the company's global community through the programs she has built and led, one of which has transformed Shopify's benefits program to include the 'Inclusive Family Benefits' program, critical for those folks who identify as women, LGBTQ2+, with disability/ies and/or caregivers.

As a WTM Ambassador, Hels has not only been able to increase her mentorship reach, but to broad then the scope of these programs on a global level, and to connect with other WTM members in Toronto and Montreal for local impact.

When asked what is her hope for the future of women in technology, she says:

"There is space for you. You belong here. Find your communities, find your mentors and make sure you bring your people along with you in your journey."
