- Criteria ID
- Unique and persistent assigned ID.
In the API, these criteria are of type
Location
.
- Name
- Best available English name of the geo target.
- Canonical Name
- The constructed fully qualified English name consisting of the target's own
name, and that of its parent and country. This field is meant only for
disambiguating similar target names.
- Parent ID

The criteria ID of the direct parent that defines the canonical name of the
geo target. For example, if the current geo target is "San Francisco", its
canonical name would be "San Francisco, California, United States" and the
canonicalParentId
would be the criteria ID of California, and the
canonicalParentId
of California would be the criteria ID of the United
States.
- Country Code
- The ISO-3166-1 alpha-2 country code that is associated with the target.
- Target Type

Allowable values:
Active
: Location is valid.
Removal Planned
: Location is obsolete and will be removed in the next
version.
The allowed values in the CSV file differ from the enum values for
geo_target_constant.status
, which are ENABLED
(equivalent to Active
),
REMOVAL_PLANNED
, UNKNOWN
, and UNSPECIFIED
. When using the Google Ads API,
you cannot query for UNKNOWN
values of geo_target_constant.status
.
Non-targetable locations
Some countries or territories are not targetable in Google Ads but might appear
in reports based on the user's location of interest or physical location.
Check the list of restricted countries
Due to advertising regulations and laws of the People's Republic of China, you
may be asked to provide certificates and licenses if you are advertising certain
categories of products in China. You don't need to submit certificates until
after your account has been activated. Once your account is active, you will be
provided with information on how to submit certificates to Google.
