This page describes how managed Google Play,\nthe content marketplace for Android Enterprise, and your EMM console can\nwork together to support the app management lifecycle for your enterprise\ncustomers.\n\nManaged Google Play\n-------------------\n\nManaged Google Play is a version of Google Play that's optimized for\nenterprises. It combines the familiar user experience and app store features of\nGoogle Play with a set of management capabilities that are designed specifically\nfor enterprises.\n\n### For IT admins\n\nIT admins can use managed Play to browse Android apps for their enterprise.\n\n### For end users\n\nTo end users, managed Google Play is their enterprise app store. The user\nexperience is similar to Google Play---users can browse apps, view their details,\nand install them. The most notable difference is that the user's IT admin\ncontrols the apps that a user can access and install from managed Google Play.\n\nEMM console\n-----------\n\nWith the Google Play EMM API, managed Google Play iframe, and managed\nconfigurations iframe, you can integrate the full [app management lifecycle](/android/work/play/emm-api/mam-overview#the_app_management_lifecycle)\ninto your EMM console.\n\n### EMM notifications\n\nYou can subscribe to [EMM notifications](/android/work/play/emm-api/about-notifi%0Acations) to receive alerts in response to events in managed Google Play that\naffect your enterprise customers. For example, you can receive alerts when an IT\nadmin uses managed Play to approve an app or when an app update makes a request\nfor new permissions.\n\nAs an EMM developer, you can use these notifications to display messages, prompt\nan IT admin to take certain actions, or automate processes in your console.\n\n*** ** * ** ***\n\nThe app management lifecycle\n----------------------------\n\n### Find public apps\n\nIT admins can use the search feature in the [managed Google Play iframe](/android/work/play/emm-api/managed-play-iframe)\nor [managed Google Play](https://play.google.com/work) directly to browse public\napps for their enterprise. For more information, see [Find public apps](/android/work/play/emm-api/public-apps).\n\n### Support private apps\n\nYou can integrate private app publishing capabilities into your EMM console by\nadding the managed Google Play iframe or using the Google Play Custom App\nPublishing API. Enterprises can also publish apps and mark them as private from\nthe Play Console. Private apps are automatically approved for the enterprise\nwhen they're published.\n\nFor more information, see [Support private apps](/android/work/play/emm-api/private-apps).\n\n### Support web apps\n\nA web app turns a web page into an Android app, making it easier to find and\nsimpler to use on mobile devices. You can add support for publishing, editing,\nand deleting web apps in your EMM console by adding the managed Google Play\niframe or using the Play EMM API.\n\nFor more information, see [Support web apps](/android/work/play/emm-api/web-apps).\n\n### Distribute apps\n\nAfter an IT admin approves an app, there are two ways to get the app onto a\nuser's device: [push install](/android/work/play/emm-api/distribute#silently_push-install_apps)\nthe app or [add the app to the managed Play store](/android/work/play/emm-api/distribute#make_apps_available_in_the_managed_play_store) where\nthe user can install it manually.\n\nThe managed Play Store displays apps in a basic layout by default, but you can\nuse the Google Play EMM API to let IT admins customize the layout of the store.\nFor example, you can group apps by categories such as \"communications\" or\n\"finances\".\n\nFor more information, see [Distribute apps](/android/work/play/emm-api/distribute)\nand [Custom store layouts](/android/work/play/emm-api/store-layout).\n\n### Configure apps\n\nSome apps designed for enterprises include built-in managed configurations,\nwhich are settings that an IT admin can remotely specify and apply to devices.\nTo support managed configurations in your EMM console, you can either embed the\nmanaged configurations iframe or develop your own custom UI.\n\nFor more information, see [Configure apps](/android/work/play/emm-api/managed-configurations).\n\n### Update apps\n\nWhen a public app releases an update, the update sometimes includes requests for\nnew permissions. Using the Play EMM API, you can set update preferences for\napps in a device's policy.\n\nFor more information, see [Update apps](/android/work/play/emm-api/update).\n\n### Delete apps\n\nYou can use the Google Play EMM API to develop features that let IT admins\nremove apps from users' devices, reclaim app licenses, and remove apps from the\nmanaged Google Play Store.\n\nFor more information, see [Delete apps](/android/work/play/emm-api/delete)."]]
