В репозитории Maps SDK для Android на GitHub есть примеры использования этого SDK с приложениями Android.
Там вы найдете типовое приложение ApiDemos для Android, на базе которого можно собирать и запускать пробные версии приложений. Импортируйте и соберите приложение, добавьте ключ API, посмотрите демоверсию и примените полученный образец кода в качестве стартовой точки для вашего приложения.
После запуска типового приложения вы получите несколько образцов кода для запуска на вашем устройстве. Выберите один из предложенных образцов, например базовую карту.
Устранение неполадок. Если образец приложения запущен успешно, но карта не появляется, проверьте, добавили ли вы свой ключ API в файл манифеста приложения, как описано в руководстве по использованию ключей API.

Клонирование и запуск образцов приложений
Для локального запуска образца вам потребуется Git. Используйте команду ниже, чтобы клонировать образец приложения в хранилище.
git clone git@github.com:googlemaps-samples/android-samples.git
Импортируйте образец проекта в Android Studio:
- В Android Studio откройте меню Файл > Создать > Импортировать проект.
Перейдите в директорию, куда вы добавили хранилище, и выберите каталог проекта для Kotlin или Java.
- Kotlin:
PATH-REPO/android-samples/ApiDemos/kotlin
- Java:
PATH-REPO/android-samples/ApiDemos/java
- Нажмите кнопку Открыть. Android Studio создаст проект с помощью Gradle.
- Создайте пустой файл

Добавьте в secrets.properties следующую строку, заменив YOUR_API_KEY на значение вашего ключа API:
MAPS_API_KEY=YOUR_API_KEY
- Запустите приложение.
