Places API מאפשר לחפש מידע על מקומות לפי מגוון קטגוריות, כולל מוסדות, מוקדי עניין בולטים ומיקומים גיאוגרפיים. אפשר לחפש מקומות לפי קרבתם או לפי מחרוזת טקסט. חיפוש מקומות מחזיר רשימה של מקומות יחד עם סיכום של כל מקום. מידע נוסף זמין באמצעות שאילתה מסוג פרטי מקום (ממשק קודם).
השוואה בין סוגי חיפוש
יש שלושה נקודות קצה לחיפוש עם מאפיינים שונים. בטבלה הבאה מפורטים חלק מההבדלים האלה.
בחירת שדה
אין אפשרות להגביל את החיפוש בסביבה (מדור קודם) או את חיפוש הטקסט (מדור קודם) כך שיחזירו רק שדות ספציפיים. כדי שלא תצטרכו לבקש נתונים שאתם לא צריכים (ולשלם עליהם), תוכלו להשתמש במקום זאת בבקשה מסוג 'חיפוש מקום' (מדור קודם).
טקסט לא ברור
התכונות 'חיפוש מקום' (מדור קודם) ו'חיפוש טקסט' (מדור קודם) מותאמות להשוואה של טקסט לא ברור במספר שדות, ואילו התכונה 'חיפוש בקרבת מקום' (מדור קודם) מוגבלת להתאמות קפדניות בקבוצת משנה של שדות.
מסננים נוספים
בחיפוש בקרבת מקום (גרסה קודמת) ובחיפוש טקסט (גרסה קודמת) אפשר להשתמש בפרמטרים נוספים לסינון התוצאות (למשל minprice, maxprice, opennow ו-type).
