إذا كنت ناشر أخبار، يمكنك استخدام خرائط الموقع لخدمة "أخبار Google" لإطلاع Google على المقالات الإخبارية التي تنشرها ومعلومات إضافية حولها. ويمكنك إجراء ذلك إما من خلال إضافة علامات خاصة بالأخبار إلى خريطة الموقع الحالية أو من خلال إنشاء خريطة موقع منفصلة للأخبار ومخصّصة للمقالات الإخبارية حصرًا.

أضِف المقالات الجديدة التي يتم نشرها إلى خريطة الموقع لخدمة "أخبار Google". تجنَّب إنشاء خريطة موقع جديدة عند إجراء كل
تعديل. تزحف خدمة "أخبار Google" إلى خريطة الموقع لخدمة "أخبار Google" بالمعدّل نفسه الذي تزحف به إلى بقية أجزاء موقعك الإلكتروني.
لا تضمِّن سوى عناوين URL حديثة لمقالات تم إنشاؤها خلال اليومين الماضيَين. وعندما يمرّ أكثر من يومَين على نشر هذه المقالات، أزِل عناوين URL تلك من خريطة الموقع لخدمة "أخبار Google" أو أزِل بيانات <news:news> الوصفية في خريطة الموقع من عناوين URL الأقدم.
إذا اخترت الطريقة التي تعتمد على إزالة عناوين URL القديمة من خريطة موقع لخدمة "أخبار Google"، قد يعني ذلك أنّ خريطة الموقع ستكون فارغة لفترة زمنية معيّنة (على سبيل المثال، إذا لم تكُن قد نشرت مقالات خلال الأيام القليلة الماضية). قد يظهر لك التحذير "خريطة الموقع فارغة" في Search Console، ولكن المقصود منه التأكّد من أنّك تعمّدت ذلك. ولن يتسبّب الملف إذا كان فارغًا بأي مشاكل في "بحث Google".
