Each store code can only be matched to a single Business profile.\n"],null,["# Dealership matching\n\nGoogle attempts to match your dealership data with Business Profiles on Google.\nAfter we associate your dealership data with a Business Profile, the vehicle\ninventory that meets our product requirements is eligible to appear on Google.\n\n### Dealership eligibility requirements\n\nThe following criteria must be met for a match to be successful:\n\n- The Business Profile must have the Place type [`vehicle_dealer`](/maps/documentation/places/web-service/supported_types) as one of its business categories. For details, see [How to choose a\n category for your Business Profile](https://support.google.com/business/answer/7249669/choose-a-business-category-computer).\n- The Business Profile must be claimed and verified. For details, see [How to\n verify your business on Google](https://support.google.com/business/answer/7107242).\n- The vehicle listings program must be supported in the dealership's country.\n\n | **Note:** The vehicle listings program is only available in the US.\n\nHow does matching work?\n-----------------------\n\nWe use the following information from the inventory feeds to perform dealership\nmatching:\n\n- `store_code`: **Required.** The store code is a unique identifier you choose for the dealership. The choice of store code doesn't actually affect matching and can be any identifier, such as an internal account number.\n- `dealership_name` and `dealership_address`: **Required.** The full name and postal address of the dealership.\n- `place_id`: **Highly recommended.** The Google [Place ID](/maps/documentation/places/web-service/place-id) of the dealership's Business Profile. This matching method is preferred because it removes all ambiguity.\n- `maps_url`: **Optional.** The Google Maps URL of the dealership's Business Profile.\n\nFor more details, see the entries for each attribute in\n[Feed specification](/vehicle-listings/reference/feed-specification).\n\nWe match each store code from the feed to exactly one Business Profile with one\nof the methods described in the following sections. Multiple store codes can be\nmatched to the same Business Profile. However, it isn't possible to match one\nstore code to multiple Business Profiles.\n\nThe following methods are listed in order of most to least reliable:\n\n- [Match with Google Place IDs.](#match-with-google-place-ids)\n- [Match with Google Maps URLs.](#match-with-google-maps-urls)\n- [Match with the dealership's name and postal\n address.](#match-with-name-and-postal-address)\n\n### Match with Google Place IDs\n\nPlace IDs uniquely identify a Business Profile on Google. If given in the\nfeed, the dealership matches directly to the given profile. This is the\npreferred method to match a dealership.\n\n#### How to find Place IDs?\n\nTo find the Place ID for a particular dealership, use the instructions on the\n[Google Maps developer site](/maps/documentation/places/web-service/place-id#find-id).\n\n### Match with Google Maps URLs\n\nSimilar to Place IDs, Maps URLs uniquely identify a Business Profile on Google.\nUnlike Place IDs, there are several different URL formats, some of which we\ndon't support for dealership matching. The correct URL type starts with\n`https://www.google.com/maps/place/`.\n\nThe following is an example of a supported link type: \n\n https://www.google.com/maps/place/Googleplex/@37.4219999,-122.0840575,15z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x6c296c66619367e0\n\nThe following are examples of links that aren't supported: \n\n https://goo.gl/maps/Sda1ubveK2WVC3E3A\n https://www.google.com/search?q=Googleplex\n\n#### How to find Maps URLs?\n\nTo identify the correct URL, begin your search with the following URL for Google\nMaps: \u003chttps://www.google.com/maps\u003e. You must start\nwith that URL. If you start from Google Search and then enter Google Maps, you\nmight receive a URL that isn't supported.\n\nPerform the following steps to find the appropriate Google Maps URL:\n\n1. Search for the dealership name and address on Google Maps.\n2. If multiple places are returned, select the dealership's listing.\n3. Copy the full URL from your browser.\n\n### Match with the dealership's name and postal address\n\nWith this method, we compare a dealership's information from the feed against\nthe Google Maps database to find the corresponding Business Profile. The\nautomated matching system canonicalizes the postal address and can tolerate some\ndifferences in the name, but minor differences can matter. For best performance,\nmake sure the name and address are complete and match the information on Google.\n\n### How long does it take to match a new dealership?\n\nAfter you submit the dealership information to Google, the automated dealership\nmatching process usually takes a few hours to update the status on the\n[partner portal](https://carcenter.webapps.google.com/). It takes additional\nprocessing time for the vehicle inventory to go live.\n\nWhich Business Profile is matched to a dealership?\n--------------------------------------------------\n\nThe **Dealership summary** table on the\n[partner portal](https://carcenter.webapps.google.com/) shows the Place ID of\nthe matched Business Profile and the corresponding store codes. The Place ID\nlinks to the Business Profile page on Google Search.\n\nIf a dealership isn't matched to a Business Profile, its status is **Inactive**\nand the **Reason** field might provide additional information.\n\nHow to fix matching problems?\n-----------------------------\n\nThe following sections provide guidance on how to resolve errors with your\ndealership matches.\n\n### Dealership isn't matched\n\nIf a dealership isn't matched to a Business Profile, it isn't eligible for the\nvehicle listings program. The following are a few common reasons why a\ndealership doesn't match:\n\n- The dealership's name or address are different between the feed and Google.\n - For example, the address in the feed might be incomplete, such as missing the Postal Code.\n - **Recommendations:**\n - Use Place IDs to directly match the dealership to the correct profile.\n - Ensure the information you provide in the feed matches the information on Google.\n\n### Dealership matches to the wrong Business Profile\n\nIncorrect matches can cause your vehicle inventory to show for the wrong\ndealership. The following are a few common reasons for bad matches:\n\n- The dealership information is ambiguous and matches more than one Business Profile.\n - For example, *Ford Kia Lincoln of New York* is actually three separate Business Profiles with distinct names that all share the same address.\n - **Recommendations:**\n - Use Place IDs to directly match the dealership to the correct profile.\n - Ensure the information you provide in the feed matches the information on Google.\n- The same store code has conflicting dealership information.\n - For example, a group of dealerships share the same account with the data provider. The account number is used as the store code for all dealerships in the group.\n - **Recommendations:**\n - Ensure that all dealerships (storefronts) have a unique store code in the feed.\n\n### Dealership is claimed by another partner\n\nFor details on how to adjust your inventory providers, see [Dealership provider\nchoice](/vehicle-listings/integration-process/dealer-provider-choice)."]]
