כדי למנוע שגיאות בזמן הצהרת הבעלות על מכשירים של לקוח, צריך לזהות כל מכשיר באמצעות מזהה חומרה או מטא-נתונים ושם היצרן. שילוב של ערכים עוזר למנוע הקצאה של המכשיר הלא נכון בגלל מזהה שהקלידו בטעות.
