Diese Daten wurden anhand von 4.716.475 Szenen von Landsat 5, 7 und 8 generiert, die zwischen dem 16. März 1984 und dem 31. Dezember 2021 aufgenommen wurden.
Jeder Pixel wurde mithilfe eines Expertensystems einzeln als „Wasser“ oder „Nicht-Wasser“ klassifiziert. Die Ergebnisse wurden für den gesamten Zeitraum in einem monatlichen Verlauf und für den Änderungsnachweis in zwei Epochen (1984–1999, 2000–2021) zusammengefasst.
Diese Sammlung enthält den gesamten Verlauf der Wassererkennung auf monatlicher Basis. Die Sammlung enthält 454 Bilder, eines für jeden Monat zwischen März 1984 und Dezember 2021.
