Cloud-Based Remote Sensing with Google Earth Engine: Fundamentals and Applications
Cloud-Based Remote Sensing with Google Earth Engine: Fundamentals and Applications is a textbook for remote sensing students and practitioners that was developed by the Earth Engine community. The published version is available from Springer. See the book website for more resources including instructional videos from the authors.Introductory Remote Sensing Code Labs
The following code labs were developed by Nicholas Clinton and David Saah for an introductory remote sensing class at the Geospatial Analysis Lab at the University of San Francisco:
English
Japanese
Some Code Labs have been translated to Japanese by Yu Fujimoto of Nara University, Nara City, Japan.
Introductory Workshop on Geospatial Analysis at Yale-NUS Data 2.0
Tirthankar "TC" Chakraborty, a doctoral scholar at Yale University, developed an introductory workshop on geospatial analysis using Google Earth Engine for the Yale-NUS Data 2.0 hackathon organized by Data-Driven Yale and Yale-NUS college.
Introduction to Remote Sensing Course at Colorado State University
David Theobald developed a 22-part lecture and lab course on remote sensing using Earth Engine. The goal of this course is to provide an introduction to remote sensing and image interpretation concepts, with application to important and contemporary topics in natural resources such as land cover, vegetation, wildfire, climate change, and environmental justice.
Introductory Remote Sensing Lectures
The following materials were prepared by Ran Goldblatt for the Advanced Spatial Analysis class in UC San Diego's School of Global Policy and Strategy and the Center on Global Transformation:
Geospatial Software Design Exercises
The following materials were prepared by Dana Tomlin for a course geospatial software design class cross-listed at the University of Pennsylvania and Yale:
Advanced Remote Sensing Tutorials
These tutorials were developed by Ge (Jeff) Pu and Dr. Lindi Quackenbush at State University of New York - College of Environmental Science and Forestry as part of an advanced remote sensing course. Funding for developing these tutorials was provided by AmericaView.
Chinese language materials
These docs are contributed by Jinzhu Wang of Southwest University & Deakin University Australia, School of Life and Environmental Sciences. They are based on the Google Earth Engine guide and tutorials.
These slides and docs are contributed by Shiwei Li from Beijing Huanyuyiyan Research Center. They were used for a two-day workshop held at the Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth (RADI), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Beijing, China, March 8-9, 2019.
Russian language materials
These docs are contributed by Elizaveta Khazieva, Nikolay Nikiforov and Nikolay Bilev at Moscow State University, Geology Department, for a 2019 course on new approaches for geospatial data analysis. Please see the providers' course website for an alternative format that includes videos, links to suggested reading, and tasks.
These tutorials are provided by Vasily Lobanov and Yaroslav Vasyunin, Center for Remote Sensing at the Academy of Engineering, RUDN University, Moscow.
Persian language materials
These video tutorials are contributed by Salim Soltani at Leipzig University. The series consists of 17 videos that include a range of material covering basic to advanced Earth Engine use. The goal of the series is to lift language barriers toward Earth Engine use among the Persian speaking community.
