"Kết thúc của một kỷ nguyên" là tiêu đề mà Microsoft sử dụng khi thông báo họ sẽ ngừng hỗ trợ Flash trong các trình duyệt web của Microsoft.
Flash sẽ tự động bị vô hiệu hoá trong Chrome (từ phiên bản 76 trở đi), Microsoft Edge và FireFox 69.
Sắp tới, chúng tôi cũng sẽ ngừng lập chỉ mục cho nội dung Flash trong Google Tìm kiếm.
Flash từng là giải pháp cung cấp ảnh động, nội dung đa phương tiện và nhiều thao tác phong phú cho môi trường web vốn chỉ có nội dung tĩnh nhàm chán. Đó là một công nghệ hữu ích đã truyền cảm hứng cho rất nhiều người sáng tạo nội dung trên web. Flash từng xuất hiện khắp nơi. Môi trường Flash (dùng để phát nội dung Flash), đã được cài đặt 500 triệu lần trong 6 tháng cuối năm 2013.

Google Tìm kiếm sẽ ngừng hỗ trợ Flash từ cuối năm nay. Trên các trang web có chứa nội dung Flash, Google Tìm kiếm sẽ bỏ qua nội dung này. Google Tìm kiếm sẽ ngừng lập chỉ mục các tệp SWF độc lập. Thay đổi này sẽ không ảnh hưởng đến phần lớn người dùng và trang web.
