世の中には、優れたウェブサイトを作成するための情報が溢れています。そんな中 Google に頻繁にお寄せいただく質問の一つが、「検索エンジンと相性の良い優れたウェブサイトを作成したいのですが、おすすめの方法は？」というものです。これまで Google は、初心者向けのリソースとして「検索エンジン最適化（SEO）スターター ガイド」と「ウェブマスター アカデミー」を提供してきました。ウェブマスターの皆様が、検索エンジンと相性の良い最新のウェブサイトを作成することをサポートするため、Google は本日、更新版の SEO スターター ガイドをリリースしました。
従来の SEO スターター ガイドでは、検索エンジンがウェブサイトのコンテンツを、より簡単にクロール、インデックス登録、認識できるようにするための、おすすめの方法を紹介してきました。一方ウェブマスター アカデミーでは、ウェブマスターの皆様がサイトを作成し、Google 検索に表示されるようにする方法を学習するための情報とツールを提供してきました。これら 2 つのリソースには、目的や内容の面で重複する部分がありました。そこで今回、ウェブマスター アカデミーと旧版の SEO スターター ガイドの PDF を廃止し、ユーザー フレンドリーで安全なウェブサイトの作成方法を網羅したガイドへと刷新しました。
改訂版の SEO スターター ガイドは、旧版のスターター ガイドとウェブマスター アカデミーの両方に代わるものです。これまで公開していたドキュメントに加え、検索エンジン最適化の必要性、構造化データ マークアップの追加、モバイル フレンドリーなウェブサイトの構築を取り扱う節を新たに設けました。
新しい SEO スターター ガイドは、現時点では 9 つの言語（英語、ドイツ語、スペイン語、フランス語、イタリア語、日本語、ポルトガル語、ロシア語、トルコ語）でのご提供となりますが、近日中にこれ以外の 16 の言語にも対応する予定です。
