Some of the information may be outdated (for example, some images may be missing, and some links may not work anymore). Check out our new documentation on [how to participate in these experiences](/search/docs/appearance/structured-data/carousels-beta).\n\nThursday, February 15, 2024\n\n\nFollowing our latest [update on our preparations for the Digital Markets Act](https://blog.google/around-the-globe/google-europe/an-update-on-our-preparations-for-the-dma/)\n(DMA), we're sharing more details about what publishers can expect to see in\nregards to new search results in [European Economic Area](https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/statistics-explained/index.php?title=Glossary:European_Economic_Area_(EEA))\n(EEA) countries, and how they can express interest in these experiences.\n\n\nWith these new experiences, users in EEA countries searching for queries such as \"hotels near me\"\nmay notice more visual and entity focused results. These experiences aim to:\n\n- Present users with rich and relevant information for their searches\n- Improve the visibility of ecosystem participants (aggregators, suppliers, and businesses) on the search results page\n\nNew carousel rich result for aggregators and suppliers\n------------------------------------------------------\n\n\nA [*rich result*](/search/docs/appearance/structured-data/search-gallery) typically\nrelies on [structured data](/search/docs/appearance/structured-data/intro-structured-data)\nin the markup of a web page to display graphical elements or interactive experiences. Today we're\nsharing more about a new carousel rich result for travel, local, and shopping queries. Each\ntile in these new carousels may have information about the price, rating, and images for entities\non the page. Users can scroll horizontally to see more entities from a given site.\nIf a web page doesn't have structured data markup on the page, then the standard\n[text result](/search/docs/appearance/visual-elements-gallery#text-result) is shown.\n\n\nThis new carousel rich result is available for travel, local, and shopping queries. For\nshopping queries, carousel rich results are being tested first in Germany, France, Czechia, and\nthe UK.\n\n**Update on February 29, 2024** : We now have documentation that explains\nhow to participate in this new rich result. Learn more in our [structured data carousels documentation](/search/docs/appearance/structured-data/carousels-beta).\n\nNew aggregator units and refinement chips\n-----------------------------------------\n\n\nWe are also introducing dedicated aggregator units that include links to aggregator sites from\nacross the web. Aggregator units allow users to easily see the top aggregator results for their\nrespective query. Users can also click **More sites** to see additional relevant aggregator sites\nfor their query. There are several types of units available:\n\n- Places sites\n- Jobs sites\n- Flight sites\n- Product sites (being tested first in Germany, France, Czechia, and the UK)\n\n\nRefinement chips such as \"Places sites\" can help users focus the Search page on aggregator text\nresults. Searchers can activate the refinement chips at the top of the Search results page or by\nclicking **More sites** on the new aggregator units. Publishers don't need to add any markup in\norder to be eligible for aggregator units or refinement chips.\n\n\nIn addition to the carousel rich results, aggregator units, and refinement chips, we're introducing\na new experience for flights queries, which includes a new unit for airline websites. You can\nlearn more about the\n[experience for flights queries](http://support.google.com/travel/answer/14595885).\n\nLearn more and express interest\n-------------------------------\n\n\nThese new experiences are currently launched to users in\n[EEA](https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/statistics-explained/index.php?title=Glossary:European_Economic_Area_(EEA)) only.\nIf your business is based in EEA, or serves users in EEA, and you would like to learn more and\nexpress interest in these new experiences, you can start by filling out the applicable form:\n\n- For queries related to ground transportation, hotels, vacation rentals, jobs, local business, and things to do (for example, events, tours, and activities), use this [interest form](https://support.google.com/websearch/contact/search_dma)\n- For flights queries, use this [interest form](https://support.google.com/travel/contact/flight_queries_interest)\n- For shopping queries, get started with the [Comparison Shopping Services (CSS) program](https://support.google.com/css-center/answer/7524491)\n\nPosted by Chetna Bindra, Director of Product, Google Search\n\n*** ** * ** ***\n\nUpdates\n-------\n\n- **Update on April 10, 2025** : Updated the [list of interest forms](#interest-forms) to include the new links and supported query types."]]
